Greta Mary Dugay Weds David P. Farren Chase

The Church of the Assumption, West Saint John, was the scene of a pretty wedding when Reverend Lawrence Murphy united in marriage with nuptial mass Greta Mary Dugay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. William Dugay of West Saint John, and David Patrick Farren Chase, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Royden Good Chase, Saint John.

The altar was adorned with vases of red and white carnations. The guest pews were marked with Sweetheart roses tied with white satin bows. Miss Marilyn Crowley presided at the organ and Miss Lynn Joyce was the guest soloist.

The bride was attended by Mrs. Lawrence F. Morrell as matron of honor. The best man was J. Norman Doucet. The ushers were Jonathan, Robert and Peter Chase, brothers of the groom, and Gerald Dugay, brother of the bride.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a very full floor length gown of white satin with an overdress of Swiss embroidered chiffon. The smoothly fitted bodice had a Sabrina neckline and long tapering sleeves. Her fingertip tulle illusion veil fell from a pearled coronet styled to match her gown. She carried a cascade bouquet of deep pink roses.

The matron of honor wore a ballerina length petal pink gown of flowered silk with a full overskirt of silk organza, bateau neckline and bracelet length sleeves. She wore a small white hat and matching accessories and carried a nosegay of white carnations and sweetheart roses.

The bride's mother chose a royal blue crinkled silk gown, with which she wore a small romance pink hat and matching accessories. Her corsage was of white feathered carnations. The mother of the groom chose a moss green lace sheath gown over taffeta with scoop neckline and long tapering sleeves, with which she wore a mink scarf, a wide brimmed ecru colored straw hat with floral and green velvet trim and matching accessories. Her corsage of Talisman roses complemented the trim of her hat.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents where a wedding breakfast was served. Father Murphy proposed a toast to the bride to which the groom responded and proposed a toast to the attendant to which the groomsman replied. Friends of the bride served the bride's table. Those serving the other guests were Mrs. Calvin McKinney and Mrs. Angus LeBlanc. Presiding over the coffee cups was Mrs. Frederick J. Orr.

Later the couple left on a honeymoon trip to New York and upon their return will reside in Fredericton. For traveling the bride wore a pink silk and wool suit, white Georgette model hat, white accessories, and a corsage of white roses.

The bride was a member of the office staff of Ocean Steel Ltd. The groom will continue his studies at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton.
