Mary Murial Young was born on 7 March 1929 in the Alnwick Parish registration district of Northumberland County, New Brunswick. She was the daughter of Henry Young, a 36-year-old laborer, and Irene Desroches, a 32-year-old, both of whom were noted as born and residing at Grande Dune. Interestingly, her father's racial origin was reported as English on this return, while her mother's was reported as French. By March 1929, her mother had given birth to eight children, of whom six were then living.
The birth was attended by Mrs. Hubert Roussel. The return was completed at Grande Dune on 17 March 1929 with Victorine Derouard serving as the informant. It was officially registered with local Sub-Deputy Registrar P. J. Wallace at Covedell on 31 March 1929 and received by the provincial health office in Fredericton on 3 April 1929. A later notation added to the certificate indicates that Mary Murial died shortly thereafter on 21 May 1929.

Mary Muriel Young died on 21 May 1929 at Grande Dune, Alnwick Parish, Northumberland County, New Brunswick, at the age of 2 months and 14 days. The provincial registrar corrected her recorded date of birth to 7 March 1929 to match her birth certificate, overturning an initial handwritten date of 16 February 1928. Her racial origin was specified as French on this registration. She was the daughter of Henry Young and Irene Desroches, both natives of Grande Dune. Her mother served as the informant for the registration.
No medical doctor was present to certify the cause of death, resulting in a notation of "No Dr." in the medical portion of the certificate. She was buried the day following her death, on 22 May 1929, at Grande Dune, with local parish priest Father Blacquiere officiating or acting as undertaker. The return was delayed, eventually being filed with Sub-Deputy Registrar Dr. P. J. Wallace on 30 June 1929 and arriving at the Department of Health in Fredericton on 3 July 1929.
