    Mrs. James Moore

As briefly mentioned in last week’s Sun Mrs. James Moore died Friday, November 9, 1906, of neuralgia of the heart, she only being sick about a week and none of the time supposed to be serious. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon from the Presbyterian church, Rev. W. H. Parker, her pastor officiating. her brother, John Hazehtt, of West Hill, Platte county, is the only blood relative living here as most of her folks stayed in Ireland. Mr. and Mrs. Moore have only lived in the community a short time but have made many friends who have the deepest sympathy for the aged husband who is left, after so many years of happy wedded life.
Eliza Hazelitte was born in County Monaton, Ireland in 1833, and came to the United States about the year of 1858 to Cambridge, Massachusetts, where in the year 1861 she was married to James Moore. Two children were born to them, Martha Jane, former wife of A. V. Crosthwait, who died in 1903, and John H. Moore, of Holyoke, Colorado.
They moved to Jo Daveiss county, Illinois, in 1866, where they resided on a farm until 1876 when they moved to Page county, Iowa, and there resided on a farm until March 1st, 1906, when they returned to Cambridge, Massachusetts, where they visited with relatives until last June when they came to St. Edward to make their future home.
Eliza Moore united with the Presbyterian church in Ireland when young, carrying her membership with her thru life, being a member of the Presbyterian church of St. Edward at the time of her death.
