Will
Riddle Hugh
In the name of God Amen I Hugh Riddle of Ardmoney, County Fermanagh farmer being of sound mind and memory do make this my last will & testament. First I bequeath my soul to Almighty god my body to the earth to be buried in a decent christian beruial as my Executors shall think proper. I leave and bequeath to my son Robert Riddell if he survives me the farm in Ardmoney together with the goods and chattels of said farm. Also the farm (except one third) in Glenish Co. Mongaghan Parish of Kilmore together with profits & appurtenances thereto belonging. But supposing I Hugh Riddell die before my son Robert Riddell the one third of Glenish farm as before excepted to go to my grandson Fleming (son of my son Fleming) to be given to him by my Executors and it’s my earnest request that this will be done justly & peaceable. Then if I (Hugh Riddell) survive my son Robert Riddell my daughter in law Mary Anne wife of my son Robert and my two grandchildren James Hugh & Maggie Mary Riddell to get all that I have given to my son Robert Riddell at the time of my death (Hug Riddall) share & share alike but in case that my daughter in law Mary Annie marries after my sons Robert decease she is to get seventy pounds to be paid on marriage daybut she must marry a respectable partner such as my Executors shall think proper as I have given my daughter in law my son Roberts wife the one third of all she is not to make sale of any of her part, nor cause it to be sold nor make money in any way of her part but to live with my grandchildren so long as she remains my son Roberts widow at my daughterin Mary Anne death her parts is to be equally divided among my grandchildren to Hugh & Maggie Mary Riddell. I therefore revoke disannul and disallow any other will & testament made by me & ratified but this my last will and testament. I constitute appoint William Riddell of Glenish Co. Monaghan, & George Coulter Junior of Carrickaheenan, Co. Fermanagh my Executors to carry out this my last will and testament also the said Wm. Redial of Glenish to lift the rent of Glenish and act as my agent on that farm. I earnestly wish that Mr Wm Robertson of Braindrem Co. Fermanagh will help my Executors both by his counsel & advice to carry out this my last will and testament. Dated July 5th 1880.
